Crownhill Fort is the best preserved of Plymouth’s Victorian Defences. It has been in the care of The Landmark Trust since 1986 and major restoration works have taken place since.

The former military buildings at the Fort are let to a community of small businesses and there is holiday accommodation within the former Officers Quarters. In normal circumstances, the Fort welcomes pre-booked groups for guided tours. Visitors can also explore the Fort at monthly open days or as part of guided walks and special events.

This video features the General Manager of Crownhill Fort, Ed Donohue, leading a virtual tour of the Victorian Barracks. He speaks about the everyday life of a Victorian soldier and highlights a few artefacts within the collection. We hope you find it interesting.
