Recently referenced by HM the Queen in her address to the nation, Vera Lynn’s famous song came to define the spirit of wartime after it was released in 1939.
From 8pm this evening, BBC One will broadcast ‘VE Day 75: The People’s Celebration’. Presented by Sophie Raworth, it will feature a range of entertainers including Katherine Jenkins, Adrian Lester, Anton Du Beke, Beverley Knight, Helen George, Sharon D Clarke, Shane Richie and Emma Barton.
Many of them will perform popular songs from the wartime era, culminating in a rousing rendition of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ at 9pm. Everyone around the UK is being encouraged to sing along. Why not open your windows and doors and join in? Here are the lyrics to help you get involved.
